I began my teaching career in 1997. Most my experience has been as a classroom teacher in first and second grade but I also spent some time as a Title I Reading Specialist for K-5. During grad school I had the opportunity to teach at the high school level. I also have worked as a teaching and research assistant at the graduate level for the University of North Texas.
I believe children learn differently so my style has to be flexible to reach all of my students. The key to successful teaching is building mutual respect and trust through taking the time to get to know your students needs and interests both in and outside the classroom.
